Things to do: Lakewood Ranch Music on Main

On the first Friday of every month, Lakewood Ranch shuts down Main Street for a street festival. Lakewood Ranch Main Street is an outdoor shopping and dining center located right off Lakewood Ranch Blvd. Lakewood Ranch Music on Main started in 2006, at first it was just a yearly event. The event was so popular though that retailers and the city of Lakewood Ranch decided that it should become a monthly event. 

The greatest part about Lakewood Ranch Music on Main is the fact that it raises money for charity. Each month a new band joins us right on the Main Street stage. You will find tons of local vendors selling food and drinks. In addition all of the restaurants and shops are open as well. In 2012 nearly 600,000 dollars was raised for charity. 

The event has grown over the last few years and now on any given month you will see over 5,000 people milling around Lakewood Ranch Main Street. It's a great way to get out in the community and mingle. They have an area for children with activities. Dont forget to bring your tailed friends either, dogs on short leashes are allowed.
