Snowman Hot Chocolate is simple, but adds just the right amount of holiday to each mug. So festive!

Start with your favorite homemade hot chocolate recipe. If you need one, try a healthier version of peppermint hot cocoa (adapted from one of our very own House Match employees) at the end of this blog. From start to finish, it takes less than ten minutes!

The adorable snowman addition is easy to createa perfect family night activity amidst the holiday season. All you need are extra large marshmallows, powdered sugar, white and milk chocolate chips, and orange food coloring.

The first step is to cut the marshmallows in half, so you have one sticky side. You will dip the sticky side down into the powdered sugar (don’t forget to shake off the extra powder). This will make it easier to apply your snowman smiley face.

Next, you melt the white and milk chocolate separately in the microwave. Once melted, scoop a spoonful of the milk chocolate into a plastic bag and snip one corner to make an icing bag. This makes it easier to design the facial features. Repeat with the white chocolate in a different bagdon't forget to add in the orange food coloring (for the nose).

Once you've used the icing bags to create the face, plop the snowman head into your cup of hot chocolate. Add two other marshmallow halves for the body if desired. Enjoy your festive creation!
