The Florida Railroad Museum is hosting their annual “North Pole Express”—a sweet take on the classic story of “Polar Express.” Departing from the Parrish Train Station, this experience will bring joy to everyone on board. Activities include arts & crafts, making reindeer food, campfires, visiting satna and so much more! All while feasting on hot chocolate and cookies. Yum! Spot the Elves Holiday Contest
From now until New Year’s Day, you have a chance to win $500 in gift cards by finding the 19 mischievous elves hiding on Main Street at Lakewood Ranch. This is a great family activity that both children and adults can enjoy!
Cedar Hollow Christmas Display
Take a drive to Cedar Hollow—a local neighborhood of Christmas-themed homes and arched lights. Even though Santa will not be able to make an appearance this year, the luminous light display will continue! Bring your own snacks and hot cocoa to indulge in while you enjoy the show.
Sarasota Christmas Glow Run 5k
Get fit while getting into the holiday spirit. The Christmas Glow Run takes place on December 19th at 6 PM! This local event features tons of Christmas decorations and music. Complimentary glow products are also provided. You’ll be motivated to make it to the end. We heard there’s a 100% chance of snow at the finish line. ;)

Local Farmers Markets
Around the holidays, local farmers markets sprinkle seasonal touches to their usual festivities. A few House Match favorites are the Siesta Key Farmers Market (open every Sunday 8 AM to noon) and The Market at Lakewood Ranch located in the parking lot of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (open every Sunday 10 AM to 2 PM). The Siesta market is located in the heart of the village, so you can adventure around the rest of the Key once you’re done checking out local artists and listening to live music. The Lakewood Ranch market has 50+ vendors of food, holiday gift ideas, and year-round staples. What a great way to spend winter Sunday mornings!
