You Did WHAT While I Was Gone? Part 1.
When your husband decides to take on a DIY project

As many of you may know, my husband and I moved into our first home a little over a month ago. Well ever since we moved in my husband has been wanting to knock down this wall that divided the living room into two sections. The goal is to create a big open concept space for the living area. I had planned to travel to Indiana to visit some family and was hoping he would start and finish the project before I returned. The first day I was gone, driving somewhere in Tennessee I received a phone call. “Hey!”, he replied “Hi… do we have any band-aids?” The first thing that ran through my mind was, “My poor house, What did he do to my house!” Haha. Slowly the pictures started to trickle in after I demanded to receive step by step progress.
After confirming that this was not a load bearing wall his work began. Keep in mind, I offered to take a sledge hammer and do the work myself while also getting out a little built up aggression. Ha. He wanted to take it step by step and do it “correctly” a.k.a boring….
It has been two days and my biggest fear was recognized. My husband had called and told me, “There is no way this will be finished by the time you get home”. It has only been 2 days! He has at least another 4 days to try to put my home back into one piece. I will keep you updated along the way!
